Just for the record, I only used it for grammar for this article. The disclaimer pops up every time I put ChatGPT as an author. Why? Just in case the dystopian world portrayed in Terminator was a result of expert law bots constantly suing every AI article? But back to question.

Who is Oliver Sinclair?

You might have browsed the website and noticed a lot of plural language being used. You know, like "We" will give you cool shit, or "Our" shit is the coolest shit that has ever been shat. But who’s behind all that? Well, it’s Oliver Sinclair, of course. But who is that, really?

Drumroll, please... badadadadadadada tss

It’s Shuvam Shrestha! But wait, that's just another name, that is even more difficult to pronounce.

Yep, that's me via a photo taken by partner in her balcony. It's the only semi-serious photo I have on my phone, so naturally, it's my go-to for all things social media. Peak that crescent moon on the left though.

Shuvam is pronounced like "Shoe", and vam is like the Um from "SCRUM", but Vum. You're welcome. Shrestha. You read for this one? Shre from "Shred", then instead of ending on the ed, end on the word "rest". And Tha is like "Thaw", but the American pronunciation which goes a bit thaaa, than the British, which goes Tho. You're welcome again.

Why Oliver Sinclair?

Honestly, it just sounds really cool and rolls off the tongue really well. Like "Asparagus". That's my favorite word to say, might even consider changing this website name to Asparagus.

I imagine this is what the logo would like if it were named that.

Now, who tf is Shuvam Shrestha

A little backstory on my name: Shuvam Shrestha. This name was given to me by my grandmother. "Shuvam" is a way of saying good luck at the end of a message or event. I was the youngest of all my cousins on my father's side—the last child to be born in that generation. So, they wrapped it up with "Shuvam." Intentional or not, I think it’s pretty clever.

FAQs

Why does the site look like an agency website?

It originally started as a sample service-based platform for all things digital—complete with some articles for SEO. Then it got parked on my GitHub and forgotten about.

Why did you come back to it?

While tidying up my GitHub, I stumbled across it and thought, “Wait, this is actually pretty smooth and responsive.” So, here we are.

Am I going to update it?

Not sure why this FAQ is suddenly in the first person, but yes. I’ll be updating the blog and case studies, and maybe reworking the rest of the site to feel less agency-like.

When’s your next EP coming out?

30th November 2024.
